Steps to Apply:

  • One-Time Registration (OTR): If you are a new user, complete the One-Time Registration process on the SSC's new website. This involves providing basic details like name, contact information, Aadhaar number (optional but recommended), etc. You will receive a Registration Number and Password.
  • Login: Log in to the online system using your Registration Number and Password.
  • Apply for MTS/Havaldar Exam: Navigate to the "Apply" section and click on the link for "Multi Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff and Havaldar (CBIC & CBN) Examination 2025."
  • Fill Application Form: Fill in all required details, including personal information, educational qualifications, preferred exam centers (usually three choices), and category details.
  • Upload Documents:
  • Scanned Photograph: A recent colored passport-size photograph (usually taken within three months), without a cap and spectacles, in JPEG format. Dimensions and size as prescribed (e.g., 20KB-50KB, 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm).

Selection Process:

The selection process for SSC MTS and Havaldar posts typically involves the following stages:
Stage 1: Computer Based Examination (Paper-I)
Mode: Online (Computer-Based Test - CBT)
Language: English, Hindi, and 13 regional languages

Sections:
Session-I: Numerical and Mathematical Ability, Reasoning Ability and Problem-Solving. (No negative marking in Session-I).

Session-II: General Awareness, English Language and Comprehension. (Negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer in Session-II).

Qualifying Nature: Session-I is qualifying in nature, and candidates must clear it to be evaluated for Session-II.

Final Merit: The final merit list for MTS posts will be prepared based on the marks obtained in Session-II of the Computer Based Examination.

Stage 2: Physical Efficiency Test (PET) / Physical Standard Test (PST) (Only for Havaldar Posts):

This stage is mandatory and qualifying in nature for candidates applying for Havaldar posts.
PET (Physical Efficiency Test):
Walking (Male): 1600 meters in 15 minutes
Walking (Female): 1 Km in 20 minutes
Cycling (Male): 8 Km in 30 minutes
Cycling (Female): 3 Km in 25 minutes

PST (Physical Standard Test):
Male:
Height: 157.5 cms (relaxable for certain categories)
Chest: 76 cms (unexpanded), with minimum expansion of 5 cms.

Female:
Height: 152 cms (relaxable for certain categories)
Weight: 48 kg (relaxable for certain categories)
Stage 3: Document Verification (DV)

Candidates shortlisted based on Paper-I performance (and PET/PST for Havaldar) will be called for Document Verification. They must produce all original documents for verification.
