3. Eligibility Criteria (as on July 1, 2026):

  • Nationality: Indian Male candidates.

      • Candidates who completed graduation after a diploma are also eligible, provided their diploma included Physics and Mathematics.

    • Technical (Mechanical):

      • Engineering degree from a recognized university in Naval Architecture OR Mechanical OR Marine OR Automotive OR Mechatronics OR Industrial and Production OR Metallurgy OR Design OR Aeronautical OR Aerospace. OR

      • Equivalent qualification recognized by the Institutes of the Engineers (India) as exempted from Section 'A' and 'B' of their associate membership examination (AMIE).

      • Minimum 60% aggregate marks in the engineering degree.

      • Compulsory Subjects: Mathematics and Physics as subjects up to Intermediate (10+2) or Class XII.

    • Technical (Electrical/Electronics):

      • Engineering degree from a recognized university in Electrical OR Electronics OR Telecommunication OR Instrumentation OR Instrumentation and Control OR Electronics and Communication OR Power Engineering OR Power Electronics. OR

4. Application Fee:

      • Picture Perception & Discussion Test (PP&DT): Candidates are expected to speak and discuss in English, but they can also use Hindi if preferred.

    • Nature: Qualifying in nature (Recommended/Not Recommended).

    • Verification: Photo and biometric verification against Stage I data. Document verification.

  • Stage III: Final Selection Board (FSB)

    • Candidates who clear PSB proceed to FSB, which typically spans 4-5 days at the Coast Guard Selection Board (CGSB), Noida.

      • Group Tasks

      • Interview (Personality Test)

    • Verification: All original documents/certificates verified during PSB are again required.

    • A Board Conference is held on the last day.

  • Stage IV: Medical Examination

  • Stage V: Induction

    • A final All India Merit List is prepared based on the combined marks of Stage I (CGCAT) and Stage III (FSB), along with medical fitness.

    • Provisionally selected candidates report to the Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, for the Naval Orientation Course (NOC).

    • Prior to induction, a final biometric and photo verification is conducted.

7. Salary and Benefits (Assistant Commandant):

  • Starting pay: ₹56,100/- per month (Pay Level 10)
